The Seattle Poker Open was conceived and founded in October 2004.  We confirmed with the State of Washington and the City of Seattle that our league structure is 100% compliant with both state and local laws, and can assure you that you can relax and enjoy yourself at our tables.

One of our core strategies is the belief that poker tournaments should be fun, accessible, non-threatening, and open to all genders, races and creeds.  We firmly believe and support the principle that poker is a valid sport.  Through the creation of our league, we hope to foster an environment that is fun for not just the players, but the sponsors and SPO staff alike.  

With our years of combined experience in recreational league management, we have established ourselves as the leader in local, recreational poker leagues.  In addition, everyone at the SPO eats, sleeps and breathes everything poker.  We have years of time logged at the tables, organizing games, and studying the game as sport.  You are in good hands with the Seattle Poker Open!
