FAQ   Is this legal? Yes, this league is fully compliant with both Washington State Gambling Laws, and the Seattle Municipal Code.  Since there is no cost to the players to enter the league or the tournaments, it is not considered a form of gambling by the state. Who can play? Anyone who is over the age of 18 can play in the league.  Please keep in mind that some of the hosting establishments require you to be 21 to enter their premises, due to state liquor laws.  Please check with them beforehand. How do I join the League? Either use our Online registration form here, or just come by one of the events 1 hour before it is due to start. How long is the season? Each season is approximately 12 weeks long , with a championship at the end of the season.  There are 3 Seasons per calendar Year: Winter, Spring and Fall. What does it cost to play? Absolutely nothing.  Although, it would be kind of you to buy lots of drinks and food from our hosting bar or restaurant.  We also offer a VIP Membership for players wanting a little more luxury. Can I win money? The only events that offer cash prizes are the Special Events.  These are ussually held once per season. Will you give away nightly prizes at each event? Each event winner will receive anentry into our Weekly $50 Freeroll.  How do I qualify for the Championship? Qualification for the Season Championship is determined by how many points you have accrued during that season. When the season concludes, the top players from each Division will be invited to compete for the Championship Title and prize.  There are also Wild Card seats.  In addition, the winners of each Special Event will also receive a direct invitation to the Championship. Do I need to be  a VIP Member to play in the Championship? Yes.  Since the Championship qualification is based on points, and you must have a VIP Membership to track your points, you would not qualify without being a VIP Member. There are 2 exceptions however: Winners of the Special Events will earn a guaranteed seat, and there may be a select number of "Scholarships" given to players that play often, but cannot afford a VIP Membership. I can’t make XXXday’s, are you going to have other nights or other locations? We are always in the process of looking for compatible hosts to make the SPO available on more nights and in different areas of the city.  If you know of a bar or restaurant that is interested, please let us know. What variations of poker are played at the Season Events? The name of the game is No Limit Texas Hold Em. It takes a minute to learn and lifetime to master. You can learn how to play here, and see SPO specific rules here. Will you be offering different games of poker in the future? At this time, we are only planning for No Limit Hold Em, but we've always thought that this is YOUR league. If you want to play a different game, please let us know, and if demand is high enough, we can incorporate it into the season. Remember, it's supposed to be fun!
