Become a Seattle Poker Open event Location!

Is it Legal?
We have written confirmation from the Washington State Gambling Commission that our business model meets the requirements of state law, and is NOT considered any form of gambling, but a "Promotional Contest of Chance".  Our players do NOT pay anything to play! No member fees, no cover charges, and no “buy-ins”.

How Does it Work?
Regular Season SPO Tournaments are a form of entertainment designed to fill your bar or restaurant with customers that will enjoy your food and drink. We partner with restaurants and bars in all of Seattle's neighborhoods.

The SPO comes to your bar or restaurant with training for the amateur players, poker table tops, playing cards, chips, tournament rules and registration tools. The tournament winner receives an exclusive Champion's T-Shirt, and every player at each event earns Points towards qualifying for the Championship Event, to be held at the end of the season.  The more often the player attends tournaments, the better their chances of getting into the Championship, and the more money your business makes. A Win-Win-Win scenario, for everyone involved.

Founded in 2004, the Seattle Poker Open brings years of recreational league management, the passion for poker, and the branding expertise right to your business.  We have established ourselves as not only the first of our kind in Seattle, but the best!

78 million Americans now play poker regularly. Poker has evolved as the nations fastest growing sport.  There has been an explosion in the last 3 years in not just Casino revenue, but Poker on television and poker being played in home games.  Stores like Fred Meyer, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Costco cannot keep poker supplies in stock!  Poker chips were one of the largest selling items for the 2004 holiday season.

What's In It for my Business?
• Increased sales on tournament nights! Players will spend 3 to 6 hours in your establishment. We ask all our players to support the Hosting Bar/Restaurant! We can't do this without you! Most hosting locations report significant increases in food and beverage sales on tournament nights.

• The benefit of free advertising to bring in more customers! Our highly-exposed Web site lists tournament venues - with a link to your website - and event schedules, and requires the players to check weekly to track their stats.  In addition we also have a rigorous print-ad campaign to promote the league, and in turn, your business.

• An weekly night of fun for you and your customers and the chance of new, repeat business!

What do I Need? How much does it cost?
We ask for a nominal hosting fee, to cover the costs of the league (and we have several price packages to choose from). After sign up we supply everything necessary, including training, poker table tops, playing cards, chips, tournament rules and Tournament Direction throughout the night.

What's in it for My Customers?
Players can play for free and have fun while testing their poker skills in real tournament play, all in the comfort of their neighborhood bars and restaurants.  They earn points, which will qualify them for the Championship Event.

Is my place a good fit?
Your place is a good fit if you have:
• Physical space for 3 to 8 tables that can seat 8 players each (booths don't work well in tournament play).

• A slow day or evening so that you can accommodate the extra people.  Weeknights work best.

• Wait staff to take all those drink and food orders prior to and during tournament play. You will be very busy with the extra business!
